Who is Frieder Law?
It may surprise you to know that many attorneys don’t deal directly with their clients, leaving that work to case managers and other staff. At Frieder Law Firm, we take each case very seriously. Our attorneys are directly involved with every case we take on, and we know every client and their situation. We are small enough to handle your case on a personal level and big enough to meet all your needs.

Founder & Principal Attorney
Stephen has always believed in advocating for people’s rights. That’s why he became a litigator. Although he started his career defending large corporations and municipalities, he found he connected more naturally with individuals who had been harmed.
Getting victims the justice and compensation they deserve is deeply important to Stephen and has become his life’s work. That’s why when he started his own law firm in 2018, he committed to representing only plaintiffs.
Stephen believes your health is your wealth. He understands how devastating an injury or illness can be to a person’s life. It can interfere with what they need or love to do. This motivates him to help people who have lost their physical or emotional health get back on their feet.
Stephen earned his undergraduate degree from UC Santa Barbara and his law degree from Chapman University in Orange County. He is a member of Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA), California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), and the Orange County Bar Association.
As a husband and father, Stephen places great importance on family. He enjoys a wide variety of sports, including surfing, hiking, and anything else that gets him into the great outdoors.
natalie Purcell
Associate Attorney
Before becoming an attorney, Natalie was a paralegal for more than 10 years, gaining insight into many different areas of law. This motivated her to attend law school, focusing on labor & employment law, where she felt she could really help people.
Natalie uses her diverse experience to help clients navigate difficult employment, housing, and injury issues. She understands that being a target of retaliation or suffering through physical or emotional injuries can devastate someone’s life. She strives to do everything possible to get justice for the firm’s clients so they can receive the compensation they deserve and overcome the trauma that brought them to Frieder Law Firm.
Natalie meets each person where they are, building a trusting relationship so they can be open about sensitive issues that impact their legal case. She ensures that her clients feel heard and provides them with the support they need as they go through the legal process.
Natalie earned her undergraduate degree from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and her law degree from University of San Francisco School of Law, where she was Executive Editor of the Intellectual Property & Technology Law Review Journal. She is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association.
When she’s not working, Natalie enjoys spending time with her nephews and other members of her large family. She also loves cooking and sports, including kickball, softball, and hiking with her dog, Rizzo.
Lorena Wilens
Paralegal
Lorena takes pride in working as a paralegal at Frieder Law Firm. She is highly committed to helping people who have been harmed by an employer, a landlord, or in a personal injury situation. She acts as a steady, caring, responsive presence and listens with empathy to clients’ experiences.
Lorena earned her B.A. degree from UC Santa Cruz and her paralegal certificate from UC Irvine. One of Lorena’s favorite activities in high school and throughout college was participating in Mock Trial, where she was a valuable member of several award-winning teams.
Lorena finds it very rewarding to help clients through difficult situations. She strongly believes that if a person begins to experience something that doesn’t feel right or seems dangerous, they should not wait until something more serious happens. Instead, they should get legal help right away.
In her free time, Lorena loves working out, especially strength training. She also enjoys sewing and other crafts.
